James E. Rocco, Principal ConsultantJERocco@jeroccoassociates.com James E. Rocco's background includes extensive experience as a human resources professional and as a compensation consultant. Prior to creating James E. Rocco Associates, he served as a senior manager with Ernst & Young's compensation consulting practice in New York City and as the Director of Compensation for the National Office of the American Cancer Society. In the latter capacity, he planned, developed and implemented compensation programs for the National Office and 57 division offices, a total of 4,500 employees. As a compensation manager and consultant, Jim has successfully designed and implemented a variety of staff compensation programs and managerial and employee performance management systems. In addition, he has experience in all aspects of the development and implementation of executive compensation, including compliance with IRS "Intermediate Sanctions" regulations that pertain to nonprofit organizations. He also has thorough knowledge and experience in other human resource areas such as employee relations and organizational analysis. Jim received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the American University. He earned certification as a Compensation Professional (CCP) from WorldatWork (formerly the American Compensation Association) and is a member of the New York Compensation Association, New York Society of Association Executives (NYSAE) and Personnel Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO). Jim also serves on various not-for-profit Boards of Directors and was elected in June 2004 as a director on the NYSAE Board of Directors. |
Larry F. Beers, Lead ConsultantLFBeers@jeroccoassociates.com Larry F. Beers began consulting with James E. Rocco Associates in 1995, after more than fifteen years experience in human resources management. He had previously served as the senior human resources executive for the national office of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Ryan Community Health Network. Larry has worked extensively in the field of compensation and benefits, developing leading edge approaches to address client needs. These include competency-based job evaluation and performance management systems, career bands, innovative incentive and recognition programs and domestic partner benefits. He has significant experience in conducting executive compensation reviews and has written articles on "Intermediate Sanctions" regulations covering not-for-profit executive compensation. Larry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Binghamton University and has taken post-graduate courses in Human Resources at New York University. He has been a guest speaker for a variety of student and professional audiences. He is a member of WorldatWork, SHRM and PANO, where he is also a past officer. Larry was named to "Who's Who in the East" for 1997/98 and America's Registry for Outstanding Professionals in 2002/03 for his accomplishments. |
Lindsay J. McHugh, ConsultantLJMcHugh@jeroccoassociates.com Lindsay joined James E. Rocco Associates, Inc as a consultant in 2005. Prior to consulting, she was President of a small not-for-profit human services agency in New Jersey which provides emergency supplies to families. Lindsay has over 19 years of human resources experience with a specialty in compensation and benefits. She worked in compensation at the National Office of the American Cancer Society for several years, specializing in the design and implementation of compensation systems for Division Offices. Major aspects of that work included job analysis, job evaluation, market pricing and custom survey design. Lindsay also has considerable experience in the banking industry where she was Director of Compensation and Benefits for the New Jersey division of a major commercial bank. Lindsay has had extensive experience with designing and maintaining total compensation and benefits systems. She has developed and installed systems that include job analysis, job evaluation, market pricing, salary administration programs, performance appraisal systems and incentive programs. Lindsay also has expertise in the management of organizational change including the resulting employee relations and human resources policy issues. Lindsay graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from London University and a Master's Degree equivalent in Personnel Management from Middlesex University, U.K. She earned a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation from World at Work. |

Kelley Miller, Consultant KMiller@jeroccoassociates.com Kelley began consulting with James E. Rocco Associates, Inc. in 2002. She has over ten years human resources experience working in various industries including e-commerce, manufacturing and consumer products. Her areas of specialty include staffing, the design of staff compensation and incentive programs and the design and facilitation of training programs. Prior to consulting, Kelley served as the Human Resources Specialist for Philip Morris Management Corporation providing first line support in the areas of recruitment, compensation and employee relations for their Corporate Audit and Aviation departments. She also managed the human resources functions for Philip Morris Capital Corporation. Kelley’s experience as a consultant include the design of executive and staff compensation programs, benefit plans, performance management programs and FLSA reviews for numerous non-profits. Kelley graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in education from Pace University, and has taken graduate courses in the area of Organizational Development. She is currently a member of Society for Human Resources Management and WorldatWork. |
